Why replace the springs of your C.A.C.® knife?

The pivot mechanism springs are the engine of your C.A.C.® knife. They not only ensure the blade deploys quickly but also that it is positioned correctly, both open and closed. Over time and thousands of use cycles, these metal parts can lose their tension or, in extreme cases, break. A weakened spring results in slow opening or a lack of firmness, which can compromise the tool's effectiveness and safety. This kit allows you to restore this vital function and maintain your C.A.C.® at its highest level of operational performance.

What are the technical characteristics of this kit?

This kit consists of official spare parts for the maintenance of the C.A.C.® knife's pivot system. Each part is rigorously identical to those used during factory assembly.

  • 1 x Right spring: Specifically designed in high-resilience steel to fit the right side of the pivot mechanism.
  • 1 x Left spring: Symmetrical part to the right spring, intended for the left side of the mechanism, ensuring balanced tension.
  • Guaranteed compatibility: These springs are exclusively designed for the TB Outdoor C.A.C.® knife model.

What are the strong points of this product?

  • Restored performance: Gives the blade its original liveliness and "snap." Opening becomes fast, clean, and reliable again.
  • Flawless reliability: By using original parts, you ensure that your knife retains the specifications that made it a choice for the armed forces.
  • Advanced maintenance: Allows competent users to perform in-depth maintenance and extend the lifespan of their equipment.
  • Economical solution: A very advantageous alternative to completely replacing the knife, preserving your trusted equipment.

How to use this product?

WARNING: Replacing the springs is a delicate operation that requires partial disassembly of the knife and a certain amount of manual dexterity.

  1. Disassemble the blade axis: Follow the procedure for disassembling the knife axis. You will need to remove the screws and the main axis to access the springs housed in the liners.
  2. Remove the old springs: Locate the position of the damaged or worn springs. Carefully observe their position and orientation before removing them. Small fine pliers may be useful.
  3. Position the new springs: Install the right spring and the left spring in their respective housings. Make sure they are correctly placed to exert the correct tension. This is the most meticulous step.
  4. Reassemble the knife: Reassemble the blade, washers, and axis. Tighten the screws while checking the blade's fluidity and the absence of play.
  5. Test the mechanism: Perform several opening and closing cycles to ensure the springs are working correctly and the blade locks firmly.
