Baroudeur® - Red
This legendary knife succeeded the equally famous Bivouac® knife. It was the official campaign knife of French soldiers from 2001 to 2017. While the Bivouac® gained its reputation for its simple construction and patented system for attaching utensils on both sides of the handle, this "Couteau de Campagne" (campaign knife) - named so for its service to soldiers on campaigns around the world - has a more robust construction. Its blade is secured by a precision-machined liner lock. It still includes the functions of the Bivouac® - a can opener and a corkscrew.
The Baroudeur® is the official field knife of the French soldiers between 2001 and 2017, succeeding the Bivouac®. The aesthetics and functions of the knife were formalized by the French army through the SCA (Central Army Service). TB took these requests and proceeded to develop the knife mechanically and manufacture it according to very demanding specifications.
The Baroudeur® is more robust than the Bivouac®, but it is also heavier. The utensils are still delivered with the knife but independently. The blade is now locked with a liner lock instead of a pump system, ensuring reliability due to precision machining. The knife can also be opened with one hand for right-handed users.
With the use of new generation grinding and laser cutting machines, mass production is possible with increased regularity and reliability.
