Dravik®: where military robustness meets culinary art in the great outdoors

Dravik® : quand la robustesse militaire rencontre l'art culinaire en pleine nature

The knife is much more than a simple tool; it's an extension of the hand, especially when it comes to cooking far from traditional kitchens. The TB-Outdoor® Dravik® embodies this philosophy, born from the fusion of TB-Outdoor®'s legendary expertise in tactical gear and TB-1648®'s culinary know-how.

The Dravik® is an outdoor kitchen knife, perfectly suited to those who cook in the great outdoors. Its name itself evokes this alliance of strength and nature: it comes from the fusion of drave (the current of mountain rivers) and vik (echoing the strength of Viking navigators), symbolizing the meeting of water and stone.

A comfort inherited from the terrain

Having a tool that feels like a natural extension of your arm is essential, especially in demanding environments. To guarantee flawless ergonomics, the Dravik® capitalizes on a proven design: its Ziricote wood handle is directly inherited from that of the famous Commandeur® knife.

This handle is unanimously recognized for its exceptional comfort and flawless grip. It ensures a perfect and secure hold, even during prolonged use.

The blade: power and technology

The Dravik® is designed for robustness. Its blade has a thickness of 4 mm (machined from a 4.5 mm bar), which gives it exceptional rigidity and allows it to handle camping tasks and even preparing kindling without any problems.

The steel was not chosen at random. It is a very high-tech Japanese steel, Acuto 440®. This steel gives the knife excellent corrosion resistance, a major advantage for cooking near waterways or outdoors.

The blade is also an aesthetic and functional marvel: it is sculpted into waves using 3D grinding (CNC). Beyond its spectacular appearance, this geometry allows food to release easily, optimizing non-stick properties during cutting. The cutting edge, meanwhile, is produced by precision robots, guaranteeing consistent cutting power.

A true field companion

The Dravik® borrows from the tactical world for increased functionality:

  1. Secure grip: The jimping (texturing) on the back of the blade, inherited from tactical knives, allows the thumb to have a non-slip grip, ensuring stable positioning.
  2. Carrying and Safety: A lanyard loop is integrated into the handle. This detail allows you to either secure the tool by hand or hang it temporarily near the campfire.

The leather case: an ambidextrous innovation

The knife comes with a beautifully crafted Havana leather sheath, vegetable-tanned using an environmentally friendly process. The sheath's robustness, just as important as the knife's, ensures the set will last for years.

The sheath incorporates a major innovation: a double-snap closure flap. This two-snap system allows for perfectly ambidextrous use. Furthermore, the flap, which remains attached to the sheath when it pivots, is designed to prevent it from being accidentally cut when the blade is drawn. It is important to note that this sheath is not designed for belt carry, but rather as a bag companion, protecting the knife until it is needed.

The Dravik® is the only knife in the TB-Outdoor® range specifically designed for outdoor use. Whether for a barbecue at home or for preparing gourmet meals in the great outdoors, the Dravik® offers the perfect combination of power and precision.
