DRAVIK® (nm)
Etymology:
Born from the fusion of "drave ," the current of mountain rivers once used to transport timber, and "vik , " echoing the strength of Viking navigators and their deep connection to water, Dravik® evokes the meeting of water and stone.
In Thiers, since 1648, the cutlers of TB have used this same force of water: the same force that turned the millstones to sharpen the blades.
From this alliance between nature and know-how was born an exceptional knife that unites the power of the rock, the flow of the torrents and the hand of man.
Its blade, sculpted in waves, releases food like water releases rock, the spirit of the outdoors, created to cook freely, anywhere.

Dravik®: Where military robustness meets culinary art
Imagine a knife that transforms every outdoor excursion into an exceptional gastronomic experience. Dravik® by TB-Outdoor® is born from the meeting of two worlds: TB-Outdoor®'s legendary expertise in tactical equipment and TB-1648®'s culinary know-how.
Dravik® is not just a simple, robust kitchen knife - it's a true field companion that thrives just as much by a campfire as in your kitchen or at a barbecue.
With its Ziricote handle inherited from the famous Commander, its Acuto 440 steel blade sculpted in 3D by numerical control and its innovative leather sheath, Dravik® is revolutionizing established codes.
Where does the Dravik®'s incredibly comfortable design come from?
Have you ever held a tool that felt like a natural extension of your arm? That's the feeling we wanted to recreate. To achieve this, we didn't start from scratch. We built upon a proven strength: the handle of our Commandeur® knife, universally acclaimed for its exceptional comfort.
This design has already proven itself in the field with numerous users who praise its exceptional comfort. By using this Ziricote wood handle for Dravik®, we guarantee a perfect and secure grip, even during extended use.
How does Acuto 440 steel transform your cutting experience?
The Japanese steel Acuto 440 was not chosen at random. This high-tech steel benefits from a heat treatment specifically adapted to the Dravik®. In practical terms, what does this mean for you?
First, corrosion resistance. No more oxidation marks after a cutting session near a waterway or in a humid environment. The Acuto 440 maintains its integrity even in the harshest conditions.
Next, the cutting edge. Our precision robots sculpt a perfectly even cutting edge. This technology guarantees consistent cutting power along the entire length of the blade. The result: clean, precise cuts, without unnecessary effort.
The 4mm thick blade (machined from a 4.5mm bar) offers exceptional rigidity.
Why does the leather case represent a major evolution?
How many of us have damaged a leather strap trying to quickly extract a knife from its sheath? This recurring problem guided our design of the Dravik® sheath.
The double-press system represents a true ergonomic improvement. Two snap buttons on each side of the handle allow for perfectly ambidextrous use. A simple press releases the handle, which pivots to fully expose the knife.
This tab remains securely attached to the sheath – impossible to lose or accidentally damage. The generous thickness of the tan leather ensures optimal protection for the blade and also protects the elegant orange stitching that provides the signature visual appeal of TB-Outdoor®.
The leather undergoes an environmentally friendly vegetable tanning process using natural extracts, primarily vegetable tannins, and no synthetic chemicals, in line with our CSR commitments. This isn't a belt holster—we designed it as a bag companion, prioritizing protection over tactical practicality.
How does Dravik® fit into the TB-Outdoor® ecosystem?
Dravik® occupies a unique position in our range. It is our first knife specifically designed for culinary use, while retaining the robust DNA of TB-Outdoor®. This uniqueness reflects the evolution of outdoor activities.
We're seeing a growing enthusiasm for outdoor cooking. Not just the traditional "sausage and beans" at the campsite, but truly gourmet dishes prepared in the heart of nature. This trend deserved a tool to match.
Dravik® borrows its genetic codes from the Commander and the Backup: the jimping of the blade's spine for thumb grip, the ergonomic Ziricote handle, and the uncompromising construction philosophy. But it develops its own personality with its chef's blade, its 3D grinding, and its specialized sheath.
The addition of a lanyard loop opens up new possibilities: securing the tool, temporarily hanging it near the campfire, or carrying it as a safety lanyard. These details reflect our obsession with field functionality.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can Dravik® be used for light bushcraft tasks?
Absolutely. Although it is designed for cooking, its extremely robust 4mm blade and overall construction allow it to easily handle kindling or other camping tasks.
How to care for the Ziricote wood handle?
Ziricote is a dense and naturally durable wood. To maintain its beauty, simply clean it with a damp cloth and dry it. You can occasionally apply a thin coat of mineral oil (e.g., olive oil) to nourish it.
Why is there no belt loop on the case?
We envisioned Dravik® as a "bag companion." Its role is to be protected within your gear until mealtimes. This prevents it from being exposed to bumps and snags while you're on the move.
